A man was once gifted a bunch of seeds. He prepared himself
in all aspects to grow those seeds, provided the seeds with the best of
environments and sowed them passionately. He irrigated them with the drops of
his sweat, added the fertilizer of hard work, nurtured to ensure that dangerous
weeds or animals don’t destroy or distract the growth of crop. He rejoiced
every stage of the growth of the plants. Such men who lovingly brought up their
seedlings - children are our fathers, we should be forever grateful for!
From experiencing immeasurable anxiety outside the labour
room, to having infinite joy while cradling the love of his life in his hands,
every father’s heart brims with emotions silently. He appreciated every effort of his
toddler to walk or say ‘daddy’. Whenever the tiny tot falls in the first
attempt to walk, it hurts him more than anyone else. Yet he waits for the child
to stand up again – beginning his teaching of life lessons thereby. From there,
he starts his role as a great mentor, offering the best knowledge to his
lifelines in every way possible directly or indirectly.
His immediate to – do would be cherishing the parenthood with the new member of his family. His bucket list and ambitions thereby transformed from ‘his’ wishes to his infant’s. Despite his struggles and schedules in the professional and personal front, he manages to put up a smile, spends time and gets a candy or a new attire for his child. Though he is seen to be outdated, he ensures to be updated about the best of the best resources to give for his young one’s requirements.
Ultimately, the best day of his life comes when he finds
his child as ‘a great human being’, who has grown at least one scale more than
him. Not resting even then, he continues to resume his cycle of contributions
for his grandchild since he believes out of all the roles he served - as a son,
husband, brother, employee/ owner, etc., the role of father is truly special!
He starts to be a new father again!
Thus, for all the dear fathers, the strong mothers who complete
their families as fathers, the elder sisters/ brothers who safeguard their
little siblings from the position of fathers, wishing them all a very ‘Happy Father’s
Day’! Father's Day, celebrated in the third Sunday of June, honours fatherhood
as well as the paternal bonds and reminds us about the importance of fathers in
society. This year - 2022, as Father’s Day is round the corner, let’s assure
ourselves that we celebrate the people around us not just on special days, but
every day, for they make us feel valued every day!
